Building a Fibreglass Moulded 250mm Square x 8m Box Section.

A client wanted 2 x 8 metre and 1 x 7.4 metre box sections made in fibreglass. The main constraint was for it to be as light as possible and to minimise flex over the length.

The finished sections weighed around 40kgs which was well within the limits required. When suspended at each end and without any support in the middle of the box sections, the flex in the centre of the section was approx 25mm.
