Building a Fibreglass Mould of a concrete Pizza Oven.

It was required to make a series of moulds of a four piece concrete pizza oven. The moulds would be used for pouring the concrete into to make the pizza oven. A split mould was made of each piece.

The surface of the original item was in a very rough state. Even though the moulds were only for holding concrete, the original concrete pieces still needed to be filled and faired smooth for moulding. All surfaces, broken corners and egdes were shaped.

After all the pieces were smoothed and ready for moulding, they were placed on mounting boards to create the flanges for the splits. During the moulding process all surfaces were given several coats of PVA to make sure there wasn't a stick up. After the moulds were finished, they were removed from the mounting boards, the flanges were trimmed, the gelcoat surfaces sanded smooth and bolts were added to hold the pieces together.
